Macrame, the comeback kid….After the Vietnam War finally ended….hippies turned their energies into crafting, farming, making granola, weaving etc…it was far out!  I think they had alot of babies, who are now young adults, and brought back crafts like macrame.  As a kid, I learned the basic knot. Most of us did, either in a school class, or just around the neighborhood. I tied the knots to a small branch from a tree, and hung it in a window. Simple, earthy, and so 70’s.  Plant holders were popular, as were tapestries. They would be scattered all around my friend’s homes.  Glass grapes were popular too, i kid you not…these were made from a kit, and tied in a small cluster on a branch. So many living rooms had these placed on the coffee table!  If you can find them, they are collectable!  Good luck on your hunt….
